Balik Kampung: The Story of Singapore's Community Spirit
Pun Productions is proud to present: Balik Kampung: The Story of Singapore's Community Spirit. "Everyone needs someone. When the kampung spirit is in evidence, nobody needs to feel alone or abandoned. This warm feeling of being cared for makes life meaningful and brings happiness. And being happy, one possesses a stronger foundation, better able to take the knocks of life more easily.” – Josephine Chia Singapore has come a long way in terms of urban redevelopment. As our society went forward, we left our kampung days behind. Even though we have lost the tangible memories of those nostalgic times, we may have some remnants of it: the kampung spirit. What does it take to make sure that this spirit lives on? In this short documentary, Pun Productions interviews experts on the topic, and listened to their stories with the hope that we might glean inspiration and create our version of a kampung spirit. Improving Singapore's Food Security: Urban Farming
Pun Productions is proud to present our news featurette titled Improving Food Security: Urban Farming. We hope that this video sheds light on the problems of food security in Singapore which many might not be aware of, and introduces how citizens of the Little Red Dot have innovatively utilised technological advancements to overcome the country’s spatial limitations. In Improving Food Security, Pun Productions interviews NUS professor Dr. Lee Kim Seng who provides us with more insights on how Singapore uses technology in urban farming methods. Pun Productions also heads over to Citizen Farm, a quaint urban farm in the heartlands of Queenstown, to speak to its founders and employees on how this establishment involves millennials in their quest to changing the local farming industry.
